🥒 Maroon Cucumber, West Indian Gherkin Cucumber Seeds produce a unique heirloom cucumber species known botanically as Cucumis anguria. Also called Burr Gherkin, this unusual cucumber differs from common cucumbers by producing small oval spiny fruits with firm flesh that are highly valued for pickling, relishes, and traditional preserves.
Originally introduced from Jamaica in 1793, this historic variety has remained popular thanks to its extraordinary productivity and exceptional drought tolerance. The vigorous vines develop distinctive leaves resembling watermelon foliage and produce abundant crops throughout the growing season.
