Introducing the Gargamel Tomato Seeds 🍅, a fascinating new variety of tomatoes from the USA, developed by grower Phil Seneca in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Named after the infamous wizard from The Smurfs, Gargamel tomatoes carry the black and red hues reminiscent of the character's iconic cloak and shoes.
This variety grows strong, reaching a height of over 180 cm, and can be grown on two main stems. Regular pruning is essential for optimal growth.
The Gargamel Tomato Fruit is oval with some pointed tips, and it weighs between 3.5 - 4.2 oz. (100-120 grams). Its unique color—black near the stem with orange, red, and brown stripes towards the top—makes the fruit appear as if it’s been touched by flame.
The flavor is sweet and fruity with classic tomato undertones, and the firm, sweet flesh makes these tomatoes perfect for fresh consumption or garnishing dishes. They're also ideal for sun-drying or canning whole fruits to preserve their unique taste.
