Endemic to HachijΕ-jima, Japan π―π΅, it is widely cultivated in Izu Εshima, Mikura-jima, Nii-jima, To-shima, and parts of HonshΕ« π. This remarkable plant can reach 50β120 cm in height πΏ and is known for its extraordinary regenerative ability π±βharvesting a leaf often results in new growth visible the next morning π.
Traditionally, Ashitaba is considered to contribute to longevity and vitality π, due to unique chalconoids present in the plant.
